Noveltown is an Independent Literary Press located in Bakersfield, California. We publish 1-2 print books annually.

We're looking for high quality literary urban/counterculture fiction or non-fiction that challenges and inspires on-the-go readers. Today's readers want to bite into a book that jumps right into the action, has a tinge of rebelliousness, and is a story that takes readers into a youthful world of survival and cutting edge lingo that embraces: daily life, city life, political life, college life, societal challenges, travel, and more, all woven into heart-stopping I-gotta-have-it books! Yes!

We are especially interested in manuscripts that in some way take on the social challenges of contemporary life in America (We love Central Valley California authors but you can be from anywhere in America to submit to us). Noveltown currently accepts unsolicited manuscripts. We ask that you first send a query letter by mail or email. In your query, please include a one-page cover letter containing relevant autobiographical information and a short manuscript description. Then include:

a list of published works, if available; and

a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) for mail queries.

We cannot take submissions of any kind by phone, or fax.
